Behavioral Health (539-234-3500) offers a variety of services and programs. These include mental health and substance misuse services, community prevention, research, and evaluation. Outpatient services include individual and group therapy, grief and trauma counseling, substance abuse counseling, relapse prevention, parenting skills, psychiatry, psychological testing, and crisis intervention.

Hero Project 539-234-3503
The HERO Project is an outpatient service of the Children’s Behavioral Health unit. Our goal is to support our children, youth, families, and communities. We provide counseling and support services for families with children from newborn to 21 years of age who are citizens of a federally recognized tribe.

Medication Assisted Treatment Services are offered to address opioid use disorder with a combination of medication and behavioral health services. These services included relapse prevention, family care management, and substance use disorder counseling.

Hospitalization for crisis intervention available on a case by case basis for clients residing in Cherokee Nation Tribal Jurisdictional Area.
Family Care Management
Support for Parents and Caregivers
Circle of Security Parenting Program is an evidence based program for parents and caregivers of children birth to 6 years of age. Participants of this course meet once a week for 9 weeks, each session lasting 90 minutes.

Behavioral Health’s Research and Evaluation provides internal evaluation and data collection. Research and Evaluation is able to provide program evaluation to further develop Behavioral Health services and evaluate their effectiveness.
