Cherokee Nation Health Services partners with the Regional Brain Institute (RBI) to provide the highest quality of neurological and stroke care. In addition to acute/critical care, RBI specialists provide inpatient and outpatient services in Tahlequah for Cherokee citizens and anyone eligible for services within Cherokee Nation Health Services. Cherokee Nation also engages RBI for leadership services, as RBI provides Stroke Program Service Line Management, Stroke Program Medical Directorship (Anna Wanahita, MD), and ICU/Critical Care Medical Directorship (Suraj Suku, MD).
General Neurology
RBI offers management of the following types of general neurology services at the Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center including but limited to:

Stroke Services
RBI provides acute/critical care and inpatient stroke services for at WW Hastings Hospital, treating patients exhibiting symptoms of stroke (acute and subacute), intracerebral hemorrhage, seizures, spinal cord injury, and acute neurologic exacerbations, and other critically ill patients with neurological diseases and conditions. After a patient is discharged, RBI is also involved in post-hospitalization stroke care coordination and outpatient services.
Post-Stroke and Stroke-Prevention Services are performed at the Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center and including but not limited to the management of the following disease states:
