OSU Clerkships

The Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center and W.W. Hastings Hospital are sites where 3rd and 4th year medical students from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (Tulsa and Tahlequah campuses) can complete clinical clerkships. Available clerkships include Family Medicine Clinic, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, General Surgery, and Pediatrics. Additional rotations are anticipated to be added in the near future. In addition, elective/audition rotations can also be scheduled at these facilities (see below).

Audition/Elective Rotations

This rotation is four weeks in length and is designed for medical students interested in applying to the residency program. During this rotation, students will spend time (one week each) in Resident Continuity Clinic, Inpatient Service, Pediatrics, and an Elective week. Students will have ample opportunity during this rotation to interact with current residents and faculty, and to see all that our program has to offer. An active Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) must be in place between Cherokee Nation Health Services and the student’s medical school in advance of the rotation start date. If interested in scheduling an elective/audition rotation, please contact our program for more information.

Site Visits

While we will make an effort to accommodate requests for rotations, there will be instances where requests will have to be denied. In these instances, or in instances where a student does not have available time for a rotation in their schedule, a site visit can be scheduled. Please contact our program for more information or to schedule a visit.
