Welcome! We are a three-year, 8-8-8 Family Medicine residency program affiliated with the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, Okla. Our program provides a well-rounded residency training experience for our residents, particularly in areas such as rural/medically underserved populations, sports medicine, women’s health, and population-based care. Located in the foothills of the scenic Ozark mountains, Tahlequah is a family-oriented community with a variety of outdoor recreational activities, as well as many community-based activities that take place throughout the year. Additionally, Tahlequah is approximately an hour drive from both the Tulsa and Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers metropolitan areas, providing easy access to numerous dining and entertainment opportunities. Cherokee Nation Health Services is the largest tribally operated health system in the United States, seeing more than 1.6 million patient encounters annually across all facilities. Residents in our program train in a high-volume tribal health system and provide care to a patient population with a wide range of needs.
Further details about our program can be found on this website. I hope you can spend some time learning more about our program and the great training experience that we are able to offer.
