Fifth Friday Wellness Events

On a quarterly basis, residents will have a Fifth Friday Wellness Event sponsored by the Cherokee Nation Health Services Recruiting department. Each of these events is a full day in length and involves activities surrounding Cherokee history and culture. Examples of past events include:

  • • Bull Hollow buffalo ranch tour with fish fry and cornhole tournament
  • • Tour of Sequoyah’s cabin (creator of Cherokee syllabary)
  • • Basket-weaving
  • • Directed drawing/art project
  • • Stickball

Male Seminary Recreation

As Cherokee Nation employees, residents are granted free membership to Male Seminary Recreation in Tahlequah. Membership includes access to an assortment of cardiovascular equipment, free weights, and resistance equipment. Consultations with personal trainers are available to members as well. Membership includes access to several group fitness classes which are hosted throughout the week. In addition, Male Seminary Recreation hosts various recreational activities/leagues throughout the year, including pickleball, basketball, and volleyball.

Wellness Hours

As Cherokee Nation employees, residents are also allowed 2 hours per month of wellness leave as an added benefit.
